My mother taught me to knit and sew from an early age and ever since textiles have continued to be a big part of my life. Over the years they have been prominent in different guises but as I am sure you will agree, many crafts are very closely related and crossover into different forms.
I completed City & Guild in Creative Embroidery Level 3 and was surprised by the design and mixed media element which developed as a result of these studies.
Designing and making miniature bears took over for many years and during this time I wrote two books for David & Charles:
'Making and Dressing Miniature Teddy Bears'
'Miniature Teddy Bear Collection'

With a textile background I have always enjoyed experimenting with different techniques and this has led to teaching a wide range of workshops both here in the U.K at Missenden Abbey, Farncombe and other adult education establishments and also on the 'high seas' - for several years I was privileged to teach on cruise ships and indeed, travelled the world.
I love teaching, it gives me enormous pleasure to see students complete a project – whether it be a simple card or something more challenging, it is great!
